Super Mario Day is an annual celebration of the iconic Mario franchise, held on March 10 (written as MAR10, resembling "Mario").
Fans celebrate by playing Mario games, dressing up as characters, or attending themed events. While the day has been unofficially celebrated for years, Nintendo officially recognised it in 2016.
LEGO has a fantastic range of Super Mario sets, from the hard-to-find Super Mario 64™ Question Mark Block to the Larry's and Morton’s Airships Expansion Set.
Check out a few of the best sets below.
Hard-to-find set
Mario 64™ Question Mark Block
The Lego Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block is a set designed for adult fans. It features a giant, buildable question mark block that unfolds to reveal iconic scenes from the Super Mario 64 video game. These include mini versions of Peach's Castle, Bob-omb Battlefield, Cool, Cool Mountain, and Lethal Lava Land.
The set also includes 10 microfigures of characters like Mario, Yoshi, and Princess Peach, plus hidden surprises throughout the build. For interactive play, you can add a separate Lego Mario figure (not included) to collect digital coins within the levels. With over 2000 pieces, it's a detailed collectible that celebrates the classic game.
The Super Mario Piranha Plant
The LEGO Super Mario Piranha Plant set (71426) lets you build a life-sized, posable Piranha Plant. Its head, mouth, stalk, and leaves can be adjusted for different poses. It also comes with a brick-built pipe for display, recreating the plant's iconic look from the Super Mario games.
This set is aimed at adults (18+) and offers a fun building challenge. The completed Piranha Plant makes a cool decoration for a home or office.
The set includes hidden features discovered when you build it and two collectable coin elements.
Adventures with Mario Starter Course
The Adventures with Mario Starter Course LEGO set is all about bringing the world of Super Mario to life with LEGO bricks.
The key feature is a LEGO Mario figure that makes sounds and shows expressions on its built-in screens. You guide LEGO Mario through a course you build yourself, collecting coins and battling enemies like Goomba and Bowser Jr.
The set comes with everything you need to get started, including bricks to build a basic course.
Remember that the free LEGO Super Mario app lets you track your coins and find new building methods.
